Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten!  My name is Jessica Mamros and as one of your child’s Pre-K teachers, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Master’s in Elementary Education.  I have a strong background in child development and cherish the unique qualities that each child brings to my classroom.

I have a pin that symbolizes parent, educator, and child; this is the perfect combination for the best educational experience.  I value parents as the first educators of children.  I am writing to ask you to help me become your partner in your child’s education.  I want to make a contribution that will last a lifetime.  Communication is the key. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

We participate in many activities throughout the year that involve the children bringing something home with the expectation that they will return it the next school day. For example, we will be sending a “Tiger Book” home every night. Please check this binder for homework assignments, upcoming class activities, student lists, parent-teacher communication log, student work, notices from school, etc. Please be sure to look through it daily. Put any papers requiring a response inside and return the binder every day. This teaches the students a great lesson in responsibility. Other ‘take home and return’ items that you may see include the “Surprise Sack”, the “All About Me Bag” and the “Birthday Bag”. Directions for the activity will be included in the bag.

Although I have many goals for the year, some include: developing the children’s love of reading; encouraging positive relationships with other students; teaching and improving organizational and study skills; and to develop their technological knowledge.  I hold high expectations that the students will achieve to the best of their abilities and thrive within a positive, respectful classroom.

I am looking forward to a great school year with many exciting learning activities.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.

Respectfully Yours,

Jessica Mamros
