Research indicates that children learn best when they can be physically active. Children love music and movement because it's fun, but there are also educational benefits to teaching with music. I incorporate a lot of music and movement throughout our day, because it encourages verbalization, creativity, and self-expression. It also teaches children to work cooperatively in a group and to share space without interfering with the movement of others. Best of all it enhances a child's vocabulary and creates a foundation for future learning. We sing during daily routines and activity transitions as well as to learn specific content.
